Sensors Empower Smart Buildings to Create a Green and Efficient Office New Ecology

Under the tide of digital transformation, sensors, as the core components of the IoT perception layer, are deeply integrated into smart building construction, solving the pain points of high energy consumption, extensive management and poor experience in traditional office spaces, and promoting the upgrading of building management towards refinement, greenization and intelligence. Relying on the collaborative work of various high-precision sensors, smart buildings have realized a full-process closed loop of environmental regulation, energy management and safety guarantee, becoming the mainstream trend of modern building development.
The intelligent renovation project of Beijing Urban Construction Intelligent Control Office Building is a typical case. By deploying various intelligent sensors from Milesight, the project realizes comprehensive perception and control of the 20,000-square-meter office space. In office areas and meeting rooms, AM307 indoor environment sensors real-time monitor indicators such as temperature, humidity, CO₂ and TVOC. Data is transmitted to the platform through LoRaWAN® wireless communication, and the fresh air system is linked to adjust automatically when exceeding the standard, ensuring indoor air quality. The VS121 space occupancy sensor deployed in the meeting room can detect the presence of personnel and link to control the on-off of lights and air conditioners, effectively reducing energy waste.
In addition, EM320-TH temperature and humidity sensors and EM300-SLD/ZLD water leakage sensors deployed in the computer room real-time guard the safety of equipment; GS301 odor sensors and WS201 intelligent residual monitoring sensors in the bathroom realize precise scheduling of cleaning work. The application of these sensors not only creates a healthy and comfortable office environment for employees, but also helps the project reduce energy consumption and improve management efficiency, highlighting the core value of sensors in the field of smart buildings, and providing a reference benchmark for the intelligent transformation of similar buildings.
